During my recent Minnesota ROAD TRIP -- I left Ross in Baxter, Minnesota -- and drove 3 1/2 hours to visit with Mary in Aurora. My GPS told me to turn down this "road"...


And SUDDENLY -- there was a beautiful lake with a log house!!

I love this picture of the two of them -- on a beautiful sunny day on the beautiful Lake Harvey. Or was Lake Harry. Lake Henry?? (sorry, I'm no good with names...)

I wanted to see the exact spot where Doug proposed to Mary last Christmas. In Doug's very traditional "sauna" that is so popular with those Scandinavian types...
THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL VISIT, Mary & Doug. I loved "the tour". It was great to meet Buster, brandishing his finest grin. And the lunch was delicious. (I'll post Mary's recipe for cold veggie summer soup -- delish!). That beautiful day and our picnic lunch at the lake will be a sparkling summer memory moment for me....

Mary's relationship with Doug is like a good road trip. You NEVER know what's going to be around the next corner, people...
