The Auction PICK UP

Well -- the pick-up could not have gone better!!

Although, it was the hottest day of the year -- a legit 99 degrees -- with a heat index of over 100.  YIKES.

I never know what John will obsess about...and he definitely is NOT happy when I talk about us moving.  I took him up to Cal and Jeanne's house so he wouldn't have to witness the exodus...

The Dosland Auction team arrived right on time -- 1:00 Saturday afternoon.  It was four guys,  a big truck, and a 14' trailer,

They had to finegal (probably not a word) to get that big rig close to the basement door.

We did a little walk-around the basement to see what they needed to pack -- then, the four of them just started HAULING OUT STUFF...

They were EXPERT packers...

They had lots of moving quilts to wrap breakables in

They unearthed a plastic Santa sleigh I didn't even know we had...along with a quilt rack, a dehydrator, a Carom board and a Cattail floor lamp...(wait til you see it!)

The linen totes were the last thing to go on the truck.
It must have been 120 degrees inside that trailer...
After one hour, they had EVERYTHING loaded that I intended for the Art of Homemaking Auction.  But -- hey -- look at all that extra space!!
The boys went upstairs and began to empty out the guest bedroom.  They loaded up a dresser, rocking chair, art table, side tables, some lamps...well, you get the idea.

  1. My goodness! They got a lot done in a short period of time! Hope they had plenty of nice cold water for all that hot work!

Um, about that cattail floor lamp....sounds like something we had, but only ours was a table lamp!! Looking forward to more pictures!!
