Art of Homemaking Facebook Page?

So, the sorting goes on....and on....and on....Maybe the hardest part of this job is deciding which linens I'll take to our new home.
I have pinned a note to each and every piece...sometimes, just the measurement...other times, a bit of information if I have it.  These two pillowcases are made out of muslin...trimmed in calico...probably from chicken feedsacks.

Many, many items got the notation, "Never Used Condition"

Each tote has the marked linens, and the number of items...like, 28 tablecloths, 24 bed linen items, etc.  I'm trying to keep track of the lot numbers.  (most online auctions seem to have about 500 lots).

For this auction, a lot might be one flat sheet -- or a set of six matching napkins -- or perhaps four gingham aprons.
There are two totes full of tablecloths.

This set has such gorgeous workmanship...on a really fine cotton.

I really should try to get some better photographs.

The Hudson Bay white wool blanket with blue stripes is for a KING size bed!! In perfect condition.

I'm also discovering many other treasures -- mostly from all those Ya Ya shows. So, if people buy linens, I might just pack up some extra goodies in the shipping boxes (don't get excited -- I'm talking about handouts or booklets we used for seminars)...and I would love to see where things end up.

Maybe I should set up a private Facebook page for the Art of Homemaking Auction!!  It would be so easy for ya'll to post pictures there...and we could all see where these treasures end up.  I'm thinking many of them will be recycled or have a new life as something completely different...

Okay...I'm gonna try to figure that out.  And maybe TAKE SOME BETTER PICTURES myself -- before it all gets hauled away...

  1. WAIT.... A KING size Hudson Bay blanket! A few years ago I wanted one very Much. I looked and looked and the few new ones I found... No way could I afford. :( Going to bet I still can't really afford new or used . :( I did go another way and made a rag quilt in browns/rusts and golds for that bed. Thinking about all the fabric, batting and years to collect and make it. I may have spent more on the quilt than if I had just coughed up the cash for the Hudson Bay! Right? ;)
