2019 Uncle Ross Christmas Adventure

My Christmas Adventure was a risky move...because it's the same thing we did LAST YEAR. That's right -- IT'S THE HARRISON STREET ESCAPE ROOM...

Here's the thing. This place does a GREAT job. The story makes sense, the clues are difficult but not impossible...and the props are excellent. Last year, the room we did was about recovering a valuable stolen painting.

This year, the room I chose was about a meltdown at the local nuclear power plant -- and we had to find a new source of energy to SAVE THE QUAD CITIES...

Lilly and Warren guessed our destination long before we arrived...that was okay..
Ross met us there -- and we all put on our Christmas Santa hats...
In the lobby, the kids watched the introduction video...explaining the story...and the RULES of the game.
Without revealing any secrets or clues -- THIS ROOM WAS HARD. After a bit of success, we were stymied, and Lilly wanted to push the button for a clue. But that would cost us 4 minutes. Ross said "No...we can do this"...ten minutes passed without any progress.....Lilly asked again about the button...Ross said, "forget about that button"....

When a voice from above said, "Uncle Ross, would you like a FREE clue?"

So -- maybe we got more help than we should have...lol...BUT IT WAS A GREAT, GREAT TIME.

We managed to find the new power source with 3 minutes to spare!!

AND WE TRULY FELT LIKE WE SAVED THE QUAD CITIES...!!
A picture of us AFTER.  Warren was wearing the "Dr. Jamison" lab coat...
Afterwards, we went to check out the Steeplegate Hotel.  Their cheese curds were AMAZING (there is a restaurant in the hotel).
Warren declared the Steeplegate Hotel HIS BIRTHDAY SWIM PARTY DESTINATION...
