After our wonderful afternoon at the Figge Museum -- the four of us were STARVING. Luckily, right across the street -- there is a wonderful gem of a place called Sippi's. I don't pretend to be a Davenport, Iowa historian -- but most of the buildings on this block were torn down about ten years ago. Most of them had been empty for years -- many were abandoned. For some reason, this building remained standing..their website says it was built in 1885 and restored in 2009.

This is the only building still standing in this block... Sippi's, is on the ground floor.... |
It looks like there is an apartment upstairs... |
And they have a large outdoor patio area |
The inside is interesting, clean as a whistle, and full of kitchy stuff... |
But the REAL STORY HERE is the incredible, delicious food. HOLY COW...this place was GREAT. We ordered a variety of stuff -- the blue cheese burger, french fries, cole slaw, onion rings, the apple/chicken salad. IT WAS ALL AMAZING. Fresh and delicious...reasonably priced, huge portions, toasted buns. GREAT, GREAT LUNCH, Sippi's!!
