Easter Scavenger HUNT..!!

2018 Easter Scavenger Hunt
The kids LOVE a scavenger hunt. And putting together spontaneous scavenger hunts is one of the main tools in my Grandma Tool Shed.

But Easter is different. The Easter hunt is special.

The Easter Scavenger Hunt requires CLUES. Actual written clues...that rhyme...that they have to figure out.

The Easter Scavenger Hunt will be the thing they remember about coming to my house...when they are 70 years old.  I am sure of it.  THEY LOVE IT..!!
I made them wait until AFTER we ate our Easter dinner...and they were excited!!  AND READY TO GO!!

CLUE #1:

Warren: For your first clue, Uncle Ross used to sleep there:
Look for something used to brush your hair...

Lilly: Your first clue is hiding behind these words of wisdom:
IT IS WHAT IT IS...

CLUE #2:

Warren: Your second go around will not be so easy to find...
You’ll have check out the place where we keep the treats -- of the FROZEN KIND...

Lilly: So, if you’re in the basement, and you wanted to learn how to SEW...
What part of the basement would you naturally GO???

CLUE #3:

Warren: For your Easter Gift Number Three, you have to think of a Grandpa who is TRUE...
Look in the back seat...of his car that is blue.

Lilly: Your gift is hidden in a place that is filled with what Grandpa calls junk --
But you know there is always treasure in my TRUNK....
Don’t give up too soon...you have to dig deep...
You’ll know it’s for you when you see the PEEP....

Clue #4:

THIS FINAL GIFT...and CLUE...is for the BOTH OF YOU...

It’s a craft activity you both want to do:
And it involves the use of some Elmer’s GLUE...

In order to make your own SLIME...
You need to take a little TIME...

To look under every bed in the house....
be careful, there could be a mouse....
**********

It took me almost TWO HOURS to make up this pitiful scavenger hunt -- and I deliberately make up clues that take them all over the house...upstairs, to the basement, and out to the car.

But it only took them about 20 minutes to figure it all out, and find all the treasures.

The clues are pretty lame...but that's not the point.  It really is ALL ABOUT USING THEIR BRAIN...and figuring things out.  They are soooo delighted when they read each clue, and I see the light bulb go off in their head...

  1. Always loved scavenger hunts as a kid. Living in rainy Washington, we had a lot of indoor scavenger hunts. Do you know how hard it is to find pencils hidden in plain site?
