TMBC Day Trip

SPRING IS FINALLY SPRUNG. Kinda. Anyway -- the snow is mostly gone (for now) -- and we are enjoying some moderate weather. (translation: No snow boots required today).

So -- it's time for the Tuesday Morning Breakfast/Book Club to take a little day trip. We decided to visit Fulton, Illinois -- known for it's actual Dutch windmill. It's less than an hour's drive -- and the people in this town are proud of their Dutch heritage. Their Dutch Festival has a wonderful Artisan show, and so many terrific kids events. It's a unique little Mississippi river town.

A very good reason for our trip is a fairly new downtown restaurant -- Krumpets.http://www.krumpetsbakery.com/menu.html

Do you know what a krumpet is? It's an English Muffin!!
It's a bakery, and a cafe -- open for breakfast and lunch. They bake ALL THEIR OWN BREAD...
This is my breakfast. A fritatta, with a homemade krumpet...all this for $9...
It was St. Patrick's Day. OF COURSE Sandy wore the most appropriate attire...
Sue came as our special guest. This was Lin's last outing before her knee surgery...
We went to a few junk shops -- I almost bought this great hat!!
Can you believe this table? With four little baby chairs set in...Any day care center would love this, eh? Only $60.00. It was so cute, I almost wish I knew four babies I could simultaneously feed...
I loved it so much, I took this picture. Too bad I didn't buy the damn thing...because now I can't read what it says...
There was one final place I wanted the TMBC to visit...only 5 minutes from my house -- this one was quite a surprise....
