Two Best Treasures

Hey -- Sandy -- THANKS FOR THE EMAIL reminding me that I had not yet blogged about MY TWO BEST TREASURES!!

I am learning how to use my new camera. (Christmas present from my boys -- I didn't even think I NEEDED a new camera)...Can you see what my new treasure is?

My friend Ann raves about her MINI POPOVER pan -- and I almost pulled the trigger on Amazon one day. ($29?) Instead of 6 perfect popovers --this pan makes 12 perfect popovers!! Which is SO WONDERFUL. Because the big ones are almost TOO big.

But -- then -- my friend Bert and I were at the Rock Island Salvation Army one day -- and THERE IT WAS...the perfect little teflon mini-popover pan. For -- are you ready for the bargain?? 90 cents. YES -- less than a dollar...I was beyond thrilled...

Then -- two days later -- I was at the local Discovery Shop (resale for the American Cancer Society) -- and as I was checking out -- in their little bookcase -- I saw this little blue book. You know what a sucker I am for little books. Can you see what the title is?  "Dan River's Dictionary of Textile Term". ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? OF COURSE, I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS SUCH A THING...

It was $1.00. I was so excited...I had to start reading it the minute I got in my car...it's such a sweet little size, too...

According to the copyright -- it was published in 1944, 1945, 1946...and I have the 4th edition...

Inside -- there are pages and pages of textile terms. I CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT A THRILL THIS WAS...

So there you have it. My big treasures of the week. For a total cost of $1.90 -- I was as happy as if I'd won a new television or a trip to Hawaii. I AM SOOO EASY TO PLEASE.
