LaSalle Day Trippin'

Yesterday, Rhonda Pierce and I had one of our "Half-way" meetings. In LaSalle, Illinois...a gem of a little city in the middle of the great state of Illinois.

I live about 5 miles from the Mississippi River (the border between Iowa and Illinois) -- and the reopening of these two sister-states has been vastly different.

In Iowa, we've been eating inside restaurants for over a month. But Illinois won't allow that until tomorrow. However, about two weeks ago, Illinois restaurants were allowed to reopen with "outdoor" table service.

Also, wearing a face covering has been mandatory in Illinois. That was never the case in Iowa. Every business was allowed to create their own rules about face masks.

Anyway...Rhonda and I were both itching for a day trip. And THERE'S A LOT HAPPENING in this sewing world of ours. So -- we picked this day. And this place.

And it was SUCH A WONDERFUL IDEA...

For one thing -- IT WAS A PERFECT SUMMER DAY. Can you see that azure sky, with the fluffy clouds..it was mid-70's, with a pleasant breeze...
I love their motto!
Hey -- everybody's gotta have a motto, right?
OF COURSE, we found a quilt shop (much more about that later)...
Rhonda has a particular affinity for Shannon fabrics!!
And we BOTH enjoy a simple Blueberry/Lemon ricotta cake...yummo...
It was the perfect day to eat outside!!
Besides the fabulous lunch -- we met THE MOST INTERESTING PEOPLE on this day.

AND -- you are not gonna believe the shopping I did!!

THANKS, RHONDA...THANKS SCHMETZ NEEDLES....THANKS LASALLE, ILLINOIS...

Really, people.  Life just does not get any better than this.  It was the P.E.R.F.E.C.T.... D.A.Y.....and I am NOT kidding...

Tomorrow -- you'll see what I bought...
