Our morning off...

It was a beautiful summer day in St. Louis. Mary and I had been working hard at Babylock Convention. The Schmetz booth was all packed up. That night would be the awards dinner. So, with a free morning -- we could explore. The area around the Hyatt Hotel is iconic -- with lush greenery.

And beautiful tall buildings -- you can see some of the skyline reflected in this picture...but why would Mary and I be going to the Bank of America??

Because we read about a special exhibit in the lobby of this building...

The DaVinci Machines Exhibit from Australia!!

Yes, three smiling girls...some more than others...

DaVinci had an incredible brain.  He invented so many things -- like robots..??

And, his paintings are famous...this one was discovered after a hundred years...

He invented a portable bridge -- the engineering has been used in every war for 400 years...

But he would often leave out an important detail, so his war machines could not be used for evil...

The exhibit was very well done. There were interesting films, and explanations...

Can you figure this out??

Try to imagine a brain that could invent a photo booth in the year 1450?? This was a mirrored room he used to do his portraits -- which was how he made a living.

In the film we watched, the guy said Leonardo DaVinci invented things that could not even be built. Which is so amazing. Then again, I'm thinking that really is true of any invention, right?  I mean -- just ask Al Gore...who ever thought there could be this internet??
