Reno's Eggplant

Reno gave John 3 Scilian Eggplants -- to be fried and eaten.
I've never seen eggplants that looked like this...they're called Primo Blanco.
Reno said they were so mild and buttery, there was no need to peel them.  Just slice, then fry...HE WAS RIGHT.  tHEY WERE DELICIOUS.
He also gave John a small medicine bottle with Eggplant seeds for next year.  With instructions to start the seeds in February,  inside the house, so they become plants to put in the ground in May.  In the future -- John will be able to harvest HIS OWN SEEDS...and here's how to do it.
  • In the Fall -- leave ONE EGGPLANT to stay on the vine...(for seeds)....
  • Do not pick that eggplant...but, rather, let it grow big...and eventually, it will turn yellow...
  • Leave it dry on the vine...until you hear there is going to be frost.
  • DO NOT LET IT FREEZE...bring it inside, and hang it in a dry place.
  • Let it dry for a week or more.
  • Then, cut it open and clean out the seeds.
  • Dry the seeds completely...
  • When they are VERY DRY...no moisture at all -- put them in a medicine jar
  • Start the seeds in the house in February.
  • Plant them in May.
  • It will take 100 days for those plants to make eggplants.
