Want a Friend? Then BE one...

Everybody is entitled to their own definition of what or who a friend is. And, of course, over time, that definition can change...
Every trip I ever made to New York City was with my best, favorite women friends...

If you're there in December -- you can watch the ice skaters at Rockefeller Plaza...
I love getting together with this crew of women who went to NEW YORK CITY with me in 2009...

My favorite picture of us -- at the TOP OF THE ROCK...

Inside Sak's Fifth Avenue -- we didn't see anything we could afford to buy (or were willing to mortgage our house for)

Every time we get together in Iowa, back in our normal lives -- WE FONDLY REMEMBER OUR FABULOUS BRUNCH AT Tavern On The Green in October 2009. OMG...
The day we went to Tavern on the Green, we had no idea it would be closed in 3 months. And it was way more money than we were comfortable with. What if we had "waited" for a better time? When we could afford it...or have more time. The truth is -- there is NEVER a perfect time to do anything.

It's never the perfect time to get pregnant, or to quit your job, or to go back to school, or to spend a weekend with your girlfriends. How many times have you been "too busy"? Too busy is not only a worthless excuse -- it's a complete insult to a friendship. It is not about being busy. Because -- everybody is busy. It's a simple matter of priorities. It always is.
They are ALL BUSY -- but these three friends get together EVERY WEDNESDAY. When I join them -- we laugh and learn....and realize that 90% of any friendship is just about showing up...
Here's what I know for sure. People make time for the things that matter to them. Period...and....

If you don't make time to BE a friend -- you simply won't have any...
