Blackhawk Hotel

Since 1914, the Blackhawk Hotel was "THE" place to be in downtown Davenport. But, after a fire in 2006, the owners walked away and it became an abandoned eyesore...

But -- after three years of work, and a $45 million dollar restoration -- the Blackhawk is once again open for business.
In the new $5 million lobby -- one of those fireplaces...


Even the furniture was all custom made -- note the classy embroidery...

This is the atrium -- in the original lobby...this feature had been hidden for 30 years, by a misguided suspended ceiling....who thought THAT was a good idea??

Our room had a little sitting room --

And the THIRD television -- embedded in the mirror of the bathroom...

The bed linens were UNBEILEVABLE...

The Blackhawk Hotel was having a "soft opening" -- and for two weeks -- all the rooms were $79 a night if you were a "local"!! So -- who did I go with? What was the occasion? Did we have fun??
