But, as I've told you again and again -- I just can't get enough crappy television. And Lord knows this new Fall Season is keeping me busy!! Most nights, I tape two shows at once...while watching a third show on another television. IT'S CRAZY...
And, in my opinion, Project Runway has never been better. They stepped up the challenges this season....and it's actually FUN AGAIN. Take last night, for example.
**************SPOILER ALERT*************************
The challenge was that each team (2 designers) had $300 to spend. Then, they had an auction of five different storage units. AWESOME. I love anything that involves an auction strategy, eh?? They had to make two outfits using the materials they found in the unit...
My favorite dsigner, all season, has been KINI...all the way. He is head and shoulders above the other designers. NO CONTEST. His stuff is innovative, and memorable, and VERY WELL MADE. He can sew circles around all the other designers in the room.
Besides all that -- he is a humble man, with a very sweet personality and a kind nature. He doesn't complain, or get pissy or resentful or jealous. He doesn't make excuses or throw other people under the bus to make himself look good. But what he DOES DO is work hard, go back to his roots, think outside of the box, and then CREATE SOMETHING AWESOME...over and over again. He is consistent and so talented. I will be heart broke if he does not win.
Corrina, on the other hand, has marginal skills, an over-inflated ego and a nasty personality. She is very hard to take and impossible to root for.
So, for me -- last night's episode was AWESOME. Kini and Amanda had very little fabric in their storage unit. But SO WHAT -- HE MADE A COCKTAIL DRESS OUT OF SOCCER BALLS!! He got recognized for the craftsman that he truly is...(Not to mention his little fur jacket out of some chair stuffing...)
And Corrina showed her true colors. TO EVERYBODY. First, on the runway, she made very trashy comments about Sean and Sharkita's collection not being wearable...then, to dig her own grave even deeper -- when she and Shar had to go back for the one-hour challenge, she kept telling Emily (and the camera) how much BETTER she was than Shar...and how she could NOT BELIEVE she had to compete with Shar...it was soooo beneath her...
I was very impressed that Emily didn't let herself get sucked down into Corrina's big superior, self-righteous sinkhole of crazy...
Kini, on the left -- gets another well deserved WIN. And, thank goodness -- Corrina was sent home...I can live with that...(altho, I did enjoy her little spat with Nina...) |
