First Snow

I can't remember the last time we had SNOW BEFORE THANKSGIVING -- much less -- BEFORE HALLOWEEN. I took this picture on October 22.
It was the HyVee parking lot and the snowflakes were HUGE...
It happened to be on a Tuesday -- and we sat there for most of the morning -- watching the snow coming down....  (oh, who are we kidding -- we didn't leave until almost 1:00 in the afternoon)
This is what my car looked like, after being parked for half a day...
I always forget from one winter to the next how long it takes to scrape all the windows...
As I got in the car -- I looked down and saw my summer shoes and my Halloween pedicure. My toes were freezing from the wet snow. And I laughed out loud, thinking this picture perfectly conveys one word...

UNPREPARED...

  1. Here in the Pacific NW, flipflops in the winter and Uggs in the summer are quite common. But, we are also known for wearing sweatshirts with shorts and socks with sandals. So, you'd fit right in around here......lol
