This article from the New Yorker magazine squirted across my computer screen the other day -- AND IT WAS LIKE ANN PACHETT WAS LIVING IN MY HEAD.
My sorting-and-packing job is, of course, still on-going. I try never to make a trip down those steps without CARRYING something I've decided will NOT make the move. This morning, I took down three lamps, a few knick-knacks, one of those bubble thermometers, four games the kids don't play anymore, and a set of plastic glasses that never fit in...
On the one hand, I feel like I've got the time. On the other hand -- THIS IS A REALLY BIG JOB...and I feel like I should pick up the pace...
But -- drawer by drawer....I'll get 'er done...
Curious, is there anything in the basement that needs to come upstairs because you're keeping it? Or, do you have a very specific area down there with a huge sign saying "this is the keeping section"?
ReplyDeleteGood question...but, right now, there is no "keeping section"...it's all one great big "TO GO" pile...which I am sorting, boxing and labeling...for the eventual auction.
