The LeClaire Library was having -- guess what?? AN ESCAPE ROOM..!!
This is a sweet small town library, about 6 miles from my house. |
And they do a WONDERFUL job of scheduling activities and events for children. Painting, crafts, book clubs, magic acts, singing events, reading with dogs -- and -- yes --ESCAPE ROOMS..!!
Two years ago, Lilly went to a "Harry Potter" Escape Room at the LeClaire Library. That was her first experience in an escape room...and, as you know, it has become a bit of an obsession...
This Escape Room is based on the popular Netflix television series, "Stranger Things" |
I haven't watched the show, but I'm pretty good with puzzles. And I made John go along, simply for moral support...
So, this was our little team...Lilly was dressed in a 1980's flowered shirt (which was fitting for the Stranger Things theme) |
It was a small room, set up with clues everywhere...
The team of teenagers who created the Escape Room set up a smartphone to watch us...and we could ask for a "clue" at any time.(we were allowed two clues) |
This Dungeons and Dragons book had a pocket carved out of the pages -- with a cassette tape! (remember the 80's setting) |
There were clues, then locks -- keys and combinations... |
We had 45 minutes to GET OURSELVES OUT OF THIS PICKLE... |
We did not escape. That was THE FASTEST 45 minutes in the history of Escape Rooms...
But, the important thing is we had a GREAT TIME...
Sadly, because we didn't manage to rescue Barb (our mission), we are all doomed to spend the rest of our lives in a place called "upside down world".
