Like many of you -- I am MOST MISSING getting together with my sewing peeps. One of the best consumer shows in the country happens this month in Madison, Wisconsin. Yes, I'm talking about The GREAT WISCONSIN QUILT SHOW.
This year, due to Covid -- it is entirely online. September 9-11. Go HERE to read the entire jam-packed schedule.
Last year, the Great Wisconsin quilt Show went virtual for the first time -- and they had a wonderful, positive response. Really...nobody did a better job with virtual than they did. I heard only rave reviews. Although they hoped this year would be an IN PERSON experience -- Covid restrictions have once again forced them to go virtual...
And the best part is it's ALL FREE. You register, and will have access to the lectures, which will be streamed at quiltshow.com and on Facebook and YouTube. A live presentation Q&A will follow each lecture...and videos will be available to watch after the virtual experience.I'm going to sign up for the Quit-As-You-Go presentation -- and also for the Piece and Quilt for the Holidays.
And, of course, the heart of any Quilt Show is to see and admire the display of quilts. And you can explore their special exhibits featuring hundreds of beautiful quilts in easily accessible photo galleries. (and NOBODY hangs a better quilt show than the GREAT Wisconsin Quilt Show!)
Below are some pictures from the 2019 show -- when I went with my sisters Deena and Ronda. AND WE HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING Covid was coming down the pike....aargh...
But -- WAY TO GO, Deanna and crew!! Thanks for giving us this completely SAFE, virtual option...but, honestly -- I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU IN PERSON ONE DAY SOON...
*********
How do people come up with these ideas?? I mean -- each and every quilt is SO UNIQUE And so personal...the stories are incredible... AND NOBODY ENJOYED IT MORE THAN WE DID!!
Thanks, Rita, for posting this. I would never be able to travel to Wisconsin to see this show in person, but thanks to technology , I can now enjoy it from the comfort of my home. I am registering today.
