Wisconsin ROAD TRIP

If you want to do yourself a favor -- TAKE A ROAD TRIP..!!

Honestly, I can think of few things that are better for your mental health than just GETTING IN YOUR CAR...and heading out.

It's relaxing...and freeing...and exciting...all at the same time. Maybe it's because you are, at least for a moment, leaving your everyday life behind...

The actual ACT of moving away from your personal "NORMAL"...at least for a little while...

It's just a wonderful thing to do...that's all I'm saying.

So, my sisters Ronda and Deena are going with me on this day -- to THE WISCONSIN QUILT EXPO  Which was, basically, Nancy Zieman's gift to Wisconsin Public Television. (click here to read the story I wrote about my friend Deanna, who is the hardest working person I know).

Madison, Wisconsin is about a 3 1/2 hour drive...

Deena will be driving.  For one thing -- her Ford F-150 Platinum package has running boards that drop down when you open the door.  wha??  No kidding -- THAT'S luxury, people!!
This is what our part of the world looks like in September.  SUCH A STUNNING DAY...!!
We drove for an hour, then stopped for a wonderful big breakfast.
Of course, there is no way I can drive halfway up through Wisconsin and NOT STOP AT A THRIFT STORE..!!
Our goal was to arrive at the Bargain Noon in Mineral Point by 10:00.
BINGO!! Right on schedule...
Bargain Nook stores (all over Wisconsin) get lots of merchandise from Land's End. THERE WERE RACKS AND RACKS OF SWIMSUITS..!!
We arrived at the Wisconsin Quilt Expo...
And COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!
Along with about 30,000 other avid fans!!
