Thursday -- we went to breakfast with the clubbers. We decided to go to our usual place -- the not-too-exciting HyVee grocery store. It's where we meet every Tuesday morning at 9:00. Linda P., Sandy and me on one side of the table...
Linda K. and Mary on the other side...note Mary's interesting scarf...(there IS a video coming, people!)...
Mary LOVED the bright green scarf...remember that Linda P. is addicted to making these scarves...and will soon be starting her own support group in Sun City...
Our best 2011 Group shot...
It's not really about the food. Our weekly ritual is more about doing the "download". Whatever is happening in our lives -- good or bad. Happy or sad. Annoying or thrilling. We discuss holiday plans, grandmothering, cooking, sewing -- well -- you know what I mean...
You have seen many of our "sew & tells". HEY -- we are a VERY creative group...and the best thing about us is that we truly APPRECIATE the work that goes into the projects. Just about everything we make is intended to be a gift for somebody, of course...
Mary brought one of her new patterns for us -- and I'll post pictures of the finished projects one of these days...
AFTER the breakfast -- Mary, Linda K., and I went THRIFTING. It was our day to hit the Davenport stores....the Salvation Army has a HUGE store on Brady Street -- and we also went to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans)...
My trunk was FULL at the end of the day. Mary found a cashmere sweater for $2...I got various puzzles and a silk jacket for Sew Expo (do NOT tell Carrie I bought another jacket)...
We got home by 5:00 -- just in time for John to take us to the Pizza Ranch for supper!!
YES, INDEED, IT WAS THE PERFECT DAY...and a good start to the annual December Mary Mulari visit...
