My question for Vicki Gunvalson

It was a large audience...at the Wild Rose Casino -- more than 300 women came to see Vicki Gunvalson speak...

After Vicki's presentation...she asked the audience if we had any questions...remember? I was DYING TO ASK A QUESTION...


I stood up and said that Vicki & Don were my favorite couple on the show -- which is SO TRUE. (Mostly because they both have REAL JOBS AND A work ethic.) But my burning question was about one of her cast-mates -- ALEXA.

Alexa is the new housewife. She is beyond shallow -- she's a self-centered, botox-poking-fake-boob-fake-everything-with-two-kids-and-three-nannies very vain woman. Her husband Jim puts her on a private jet to go to lunch -- their lifestyle is almost as phoney as it is excessive...and MAYBE THAT'S WHY I WATCH THIS SHOW??


So here's how my question went:

Rita: What does Alexa's husband do for a living?
Vicki: We don't know!
Rita: What do you mean?
Vicki: Everytime somebody asks that -- we're told he's "an entrepreneur".

The whole room laughed....then Vicki said, "What would that mean here in Iowa? HE'S AN ENREPRENEUR..?"

Rita: Here in Iowa? That's easy...an entrepreneur is somebody who is selling meth out of their trailer...

This is a picture of me, before the show, sucking up to Vicki's assistant -- Heidi. I wanted to make sure she understood the IMPORTANCE OF THE HEY RITA TOTE...and why, even though there would be a long book signing line, I'd have to take the time to get a picture of Vicki WITH the tote...


After all, THOUSANDS OF WOMEN READ THIS BLOG -- and they want to know what Hey Rita is up to.... Just in case I couldn't get close enough to Vicki -- I took this picture with Heidi...that's when I noticed her orange county shoes...

When Clinton Iowa brought the REAL HOUSEWIFE, Vicki Gunvalson, to town -- the event took place at their newest biggest hotel. AND I LOVE HOTEL CARPETING.!! ISN'T THIS FABULOUS?? Does anybody know how I can buy this for my house??

Of course, I had to take one of my famous "shoe shots"...you already know which foot belongs to me (the pink and orange pedicure) -- Amy and Rachael both have cute shoes. But, you've gotta admit -- Vicki's assistant, Heidi -- TAKES THE PRIZE with her orange high heels...



OOPS -- I forgot to put HEY RITA in the picture. AND, of course, Heidi did her job and got Vicki's new book in this shot....

Seriously -- don't these shoes just about say it all? I mean -- ORANGE COUNTY is HOT, HOT, HOT...!! And they have the shoes to prove it...


We DID get a chance to ask Vicki questions...and, of course, I told her I'd be putting her picture (with the Hey RITA tote) up on this blog...

So -- if you could ask Vicki ONE question -- what would it be?

The Original REAL Housewife

The Clinton, Iowa Women in Business did a GREAT spring event -- with a very special speaker....here's a picture of me with my niece Amy and her friend Rachael...we're waiting for the VIP...the Very Important Person who will be the guest speaker...

Yes -- that's right -- it's VICKI GUNVALSON -- the ORIGINAL Real Housewife of Orange County. In the picture below -- Amy is on the left and Rachael on the right. Of course, Vicki was envious of my fabulous HEY RITA totebag...

Vicki was autographing my copy of her new book -- and I was explaining why we had to have the totebag in the picture...

This is my best picture of Amy and Rachael. These two young women have been friends since they were five years old. AND when they had a chance to ask Vicki questions, they wanted to know where to go in Florida for an airboat ride (they're planning a Florida"girlfriend" vacation in May). In a recent episode, Vicki arranged many weekend activities for her "housewives girlfriends"in Florida...except, of course, Scummy Slade crashed the party...


WHAT A GREAT EVENING WE HAD!! Thanks to the Clinton Chamber of Commerce for bringing Vicki to town. They did a first class job -- complete with a chocolate fountain. Vicki was nervous about speaking to a large women's group -- but she did a GREAT job. I'll write more about Vicki -- after I actually get to read her book... (More Than A Housewife)

Speaking of Reality Television....

On Thursday, April 8 -- I am going to a special event sponsored by the Clinton, Iowa Chamber of Commerce. They are bringing Vicki Gunvalson -- from the Real Housewives of Orange County -- in for a special event!!

AM I A LUCKY GIRL OR WHAT??

Vicki is my favorite on the show -- because she has a GREAT WORK ETHIC. She is the only one who has a real JOB, and she's written a book (More Than A Housewife).

If you're going to be in the area -- JOIN ME. The tickets are $35 each, but that includes "heavy Hors 'oeuvres" (there's a joke in there somewhere). AND it's going to happen at the new gambling casino -- the Wild Rose.

The casino has been open for a couple of years -- and I'm proud to say I've never been in it. So, along with seeing Vicki in person, I'll probably lose $20 on video poker...
