To review: For my birthday (March) -- Elliott and Emily surprised me with a gift of NEW CARPET. Great, eh?
So...okay....the first thing that had to happen was CLEANING THE CLOSETS...then, culling the baskets and boxes of toys...the game cabinet...then, all the crafts, coloring books, and art supplies that live in the entertainment center...well, you get the idea...ugh...
Then, the second problem was I COULD NOT DECIDE WHAT THE NEW CARPET SHOULD LOOK LIKE. Ugh. After two or three shopping trips into Carpet World -- I gave that task over to Emily and Lilly. Honestly. I just couldn't deal with all the choices...
When I told my TMBC crew that Emily and Lilly were picking out my carpet, LP said
"what if you don't like it?"
I said,
"The truth is, I never liked the brown carpeting I've had for the last 37 years...and it really didn't impact my life that much."
We have been cleaning for months (when I say "we", I mean Carrie, of course)...and the time has FINALLY ARRIVED. The new carpet has been ordered, the rooms, hallways and closets have been CLEARED, and the two-man installation crew has been SCHEDULED.
EVERYTHING HAS BEEN MOVED OUT ON THE PORCH. Yikes. I cannot imagine how we could have accomplished this new-carpet-is-coming job if we didn't have the porch!! It is jammed, from corner to corner, with furniture on top of furniture...

But for me -- the work isn't over!! Carrie is on vacation...and now I have to bring the stuff back IN that we spent the last two months taking OUT...ugh...

I am losing hope...this new carpeting project has been going on all summer...and everything is in SUCH TURMOIL...how will I ever get it back in order?
