AND I love, love, love this post which was recently making the rounds on Facebook. I share a lot of stuff from Linda Boothman's page...she and I share a wacky sense of humor...
Hope your Christmas Plans are going well. It's fun to think about what tradition YOU CAN START this year that might still be alive in 20 or 30 years. Maybe it's setting up a photo pose with your family,
For me, it's decorating the whole house with mugs and rugs, playing Christmas music, watching a different Christmas movie every day for two weeks (saving It's A Wonderful Life for December 23), setting up the train board and American Flyer train John got the year he was nine, making homemade eggnog and reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve, along with rolling and cooking 100 Lumpia
God only knows how much of this effort will properly land on my people. The truth about tradition is that IT ALWAYS REMEMBERS BETTER THAN IT LIVES. You often cannot tell when you are doing it if it makes an impression....its the memory that lasts and makes it important -- YEARS down the road...
SO -- BUCK UP -- YOU CAN DO IT....THERE ARE ONLY six days left until Christmas. If you absolutely cannot think of anything you want to do this year that will bring you joy -- it's time to look around and start thinking of what you can do for somebody else...
If you ask me -- that's why there IS A CHRISTMAS....
