My sister Deena is well known for her FLEECE blankets. She recently made several JUNGLE PRINT blankets for her new grandson Mason....
And, for the other Thanksgiving baby, Clayton -- a BANDANA fleece blanket for his farm-themed nursery.
Here's a picture of her granddaughter, Maddie Grace, sitting amongst a bundle of blankets Deena and her friends made to send to soldiers serving overseas...
Deena adopts a soldier every year. She's been doing this for at least the last ten years. She and the people she works with send a box every month. Sometimes packed with toiletries, or maybe homemade cookies. Brownies are always a favorite...
One of the things they really appreciate getting are lightweight blankets they can carry with them. If you don't know a soldier -- there is a website where you can go to find out you can use some of your FLEECE STASH and turn it into a blanket for somebody who will really appreciate it. The website is: Soldiers' Angels.
I'm taking pictures of Deena's process, step-by-step....it'll be in tomorrow's post!!
