The Twins Big Birthday!!

I have no idea how this happened -- and I AM trying not to make this ALL ABOUT ME...but how is it that my friends are old enough to have children who are now turning 50??

Recently, somebody told me they always knew they would get OLDER....but they never realized it would happen SO FAST...

No kidding.

You'll recognize my friend Linda P. from TMBC. Here she is with her husband Don.

50 years ago, Linda gave birth to TWIN GIRLS....Whitney and Kim (here, pictured on their celebratory birthday cruise).

Both girls live in states far, far away. But, they will be coming back to Iowa for a visit during this milestone birthday month. And their mother, of course, has a MAJOR GIFT planned for the two of them...

Can you guess what she'll be giving them??

THAT'S RIGHT!! Each girl will receive a scroll-face Featherweight sewing machine.

Linda wanted to give her girls something special -- and, of course -- what could be more special than passing on a hobby you love? A craft that can provide you hours of joy? A creative outlet that can bring you peace on a tumultuous day...

LK shopped for a long time to find just the right Featherweights.  Born pretty much the same time as she was...lol...

Although, right now, neither of them is a big quilter.  Both Kim and Whitney are busy working mothers -- with careers, husbands and kids living at home -- and maybe they can't imagine actually having TIME TO SEW...

But, trust me, girls -- if you're doing it right -- you will be grateful to have a hobby that involves giving gifts to others.  And MAKING things. ..

IT WAS A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL GIFT...!!
