Our Trip Home

When we left the John Hancock building, Lilly wanted to hail the cab to take us back to our hotel.
She VERY quickly hailed a cab. I think this picture captured a moment she will remember all her life...
When we got to Union Station, there was EVEN MORE TO SEE...
Lilly has never been in such a grand public space. It made quite an impression.
It is magnificent.
We simply don't do this kind of architecture any more...
We ate lunch, and explored the station -- then it was time to board our train.
We knew enough now to go RIGHT TO THE OBSERVATION CAR.
Mary Fons gave her a $5 Canadian bill...
After a very comfortable two hours, we arrived back at the Amtrak station in Princeton, Illinois. We got into my car...
...and within ten minutes...
That's the thing about kids. When they're done, they're done.
Obviously, I loved planning Lilly's first visit to a big city, and Chicago did not disappoint.

I loved rehashing every day, and looking at the pictures, remembering what we saw and did. I'm sorry it took so many posts to do it!!

Thanks for being so patient...
